Paraisópolis is the second-largest favela in the city of São Paulo, with approximately a hundred thousand inhabitants. The artsy favela tour offers a unique contact with the people from the community accompanied by a person of the association of dwellers to guarantee our security and answer all the questions the visitor might have about the life in the favela as well as its history.

You will experience the authentic favela lifestyle and be inspired by the social projects led by strong and resilient local residents who are making a difference in the life of the future generations.

You will also visit a few local artists, such as Estevão, also known as “The Brazilian Gaudi”; and Berbela, who both have found a way to create beauty in such a chaotic environment, spreading hope for better days among the people from the community, and attracting visitors from all over the world to see the creations with their own eyes.

Pickup at your hotel, or other agreed upon location in the city of São Paulo.

During the tour, we will see:

- Estevão's house (The Gaudi from Paraisópolis)
- Berbela's atelier (local artist)
- The Alleys of the Favela
- The center of the favela
- The local restaurant (only from Monday to Friday)

At the end, we'll return to your hotel, or other agreed upon point.

MEETING POINT + TOUR DURATION

Duration: 4 hours

The regular tour takes 3 hours inside the favela, and we should take an average of 30 min to get there and 30 min to go back to the hotel. Traffic, weather and things going on in the community might affect the tour duration. In case the tour takes a shorter period of time, I am going to take you to other attractions in São Paulo after we leave the favela, so you get at least a 4-hour tour. You need to be prepared to take longer and should not have appointments right after the tour.
